The six Governors of the south South region of the country are expected to storm Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital tomorrow Thursday as special guests of honour as the Coalition of SouthSouth Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines & Agriculture (COSSCCIMA) holds its Blue Economy Investment Summit slated at Watbridge Hotels and Suites.
The president of COSSCCIMA, Dr Okon Emah who addressed Journalists on Wednesday in Uyo said the theme of the event remains: Harnessing the potentials of Blue Economy (Ocean) through private sector participation for regional development.
Emah said the two-day event will have a professor of Economics and former vice chancellor University of Uyo Prof. Hogan Akpan Ekpo and Dr Ikedife Uba as guest speakers among others.
He emphasized that the summit will help South South businesses play competitively and profitably in all markets.
He also highlighted that the summit will provide a credible and profitable platform for articulating the business interests of the region and ensuring global best practices
According to him, ” COSSCCIMA is a growing body whose broad-based mission and vision is building and
protecting business while developing people through sharing of relevant knowledge and information
“This is the voice of business in the South-South Region.COSSCCIMA will continue to work and act on behalf of businesses in our region and country,
Speaking on the vision of the Association Dr Emah said it is all out
to promote Nigeria as a credible, valuable, and profitable investment destination.
National Economic Development and to
organize world-class business and leisure events to achieve all year round Tourism and Foreign Direct investment
He maintained that the Association will develop the capacity of local businesses towards making them more competitive stressing that they are ever ready to
assist the government with ideas on how to improve institutional frameworks for facilitating businesses.
Top Business men entrepreneurs and Investors are expected to grace the event which promises to be very rewarding.
