Bandit leaders commit to peace after dialogue with Katsina communities

Local councils in Charanci and Batagarawa areas of Katsina State have joined other communities in peace talks with armed Fulani groups living in nearby forests.

Security analyst Zagozola Makama reported that the peace dialogue was held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, in Wurma town, located in Kurfi Local Government Area of the state.

Reportedly present at the meeting were Batagarawa Local Government Chairman, Hon. Yahaya Lawal Kawo, representatives from Charanci Local Government, several traditional rulers, and delegates from the Fulani forest communities.

The discussion reportedly ended on an encouraging note, with Fulani representatives pledging to uphold lasting peace and maintain harmonious relations with neighboring communities.
