Troops attached to Sector 3 of Operation Safe Haven have arrested a suspected kidnapper allegedly connected to the abduction of a retired army colonel in Plateau State.
Security analyst Zagozola Makama disclosed in a report that the suspect, Abu Ahamadu, 35, was arrested around 4 p.m. on May 20 during an intelligence-driven operation.
“He was reportedly linked to the kidnapping of retired Col. Ajanaku (rtd), which occurred on Jan. 4 along Rukuba Road in Bassa LGA,” Makama said.
Security sources revealed that the arrest came after continuous operations by troops aimed at identifying and dismantling kidnapping syndicates operating in the area.
The suspect remains in custody while security agencies continue investigations and profiling.
