Police react to alleged setting ablaze of ADC factional chairman’s house in Gombe

The Gombe State Police Command has reacted claims making the rounds on social media that the residence of the factional national chairman of African Democratic Congress (ADC), Mr. Nafiu Bala, was burnt in the state, describing the report as inaccurate and misleading.

In a statement released on Thursday, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, said there had been no record of such an incident anywhere in Gombe State.

The clarification followed a viral post on X alleging that an irate mob had set fire to Bala’s country home.

“The command confirms that the report is false, as no such incident has been recorded anywhere in the state,” Abdullahi stated.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Umar Ahmed Chuso, urged residents to ignore the false report and maintain calm, reiterating the command’s dedication to safeguarding lives and property in the state.

“The Commissioner of Police, Gombe State Command, CP Umar Ahmed Chuso, urges members of the public to disregard this misinformation and remain calm, as the Command remains committed to ensuring peace and security across Gombe State,” the statement read.
