EFCC to Nigerian students: Make integrity your watchword

Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukoyede has charged students across the country to make integrity their watchword as corruption cannot be tackled without integrity.

He made this call on Friday, June 19, 2026 at an interactive session with members of the Integrity Club of Anglican Girls Grammar School, Apo Abuja.

The Executive Chairman who was represented by the Head of Radio, Deputy Commander of the EFCC, DCE Nwanyinma Okeanu stated that Integrity plays a crucial role in eradicating corruption.

“ We are here to encourage you and remind you that integrity is one thing the EFCC holds dear. If you don’t have integrity, you won’t go far in life. Integrity should be the watchword in everything you do, it should start with you”

As someone that is planning for a brighter future, you need integrity, if you have integrity Nigeria will rebrand itself . You are here because your parents want you to be here, they want the best for you, so make them proud, aim higher and become people of integrity because the future of Nigeria and tomorrow starts now, it begins with you” she said

Nwanyinma further encouraged them to continue to be good ambassadors of their school and families, urging them to spread the message they have gained as members of the Integrity Club anywhere they find themselves.

The Head of Enlightenment and Reorientation, Assistant Commander of EFCC, ACE II Aisha Mohammed took the students through the mandate and functions of the Commission, stating that as members of the club, they should be of good example for others to emulate because they are foot soldiers of the EFCC.

“ I congratulate you for being part of the Integrity Club. In the EFCC, what we do is to prevent, investigate and prosecute corruption. It is because of our prevention mandate that we are here to talk about integrity at this early age of your life because you are the future of Nigeria. I expect you to be determined to change the narrative because integrity begins with you. I urge you not to do anything compromising with your phone, I mean anything that you are not proud of, don’t take pictures of some areas of your body and send on the internet. Beware of sextortion because many people are dead because of that. We are counting on you. we cannot fight corruption alone, so be that person that will stand out”, she said.

Delivering her remarks, the Head of the School’s Integrity club, Maton Dorcas appreciated the visit and the school management for making the meeting possible, stating that the engagement was very impactful. She promised that they will put all they have been taught into practice.
