Oyebanji Wins Fayose’s Polling Unit In Ekiti Gov Election

Ekiti State Governor and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Biodun Oyebanji, has won the polling unit of former Governor, Ayodele Fayose.

Naija News reports that Oyebanji secured 448 votes at Polling Unit 001, St David’s Primary School/Maternity Area, Afao-Ekiti, in Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Dare Bejide, polled 37 votes, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Wole Oluyede, scored four votes.

The Action Democratic Party (ADP) also recorded four votes.

Official figures contained in INEC Form EC8A showed that 538 voters were accredited out of 931 registered voters.

A total of 493 valid votes were recorded, while seven ballots were rejected.

The result is considered significant as the polling unit is located in Afao-Ekiti, Fayose’s hometown.

As of the time of filing this report, the result had been signed by polling officials and party agents, while collation continued across the state.
