Super Eagle of Nigeria defender Zaidu Sanusi won the Portuguese Primeira Liga with FC Porto on Saturday night.
The Dragao stadium side defeated Alverca 1-0 to seal the title, with Sanusi featuring for the entire match. Jan Bednarek scored the only goal of the match on 40 minutes to seal the title.
It is the second league title for Sanusi with Porto who reclaimed the premier Portuguese championship for the first time in four years, ending a three years drought.

The title is also Sanusi’s ninth trophy with Porto in his sixth season with the club. The 28-year-old left back also becomes only the second Nigerian international to win two titles with Porto, following in the footsteps of Chidi Nwanu in 1994/95, and 1995/96 seasons.
While Sanusi celebrates his second crown, his compatriot Terem Moffi gets a first taste of the league title following his loan arrival to the club in January.
He also makes history as only the fourth Nigerian to ever win the Portuguese Primeira league title. All four Nigerians won the title with Porto.
Coach Francesco Farioli is another first-time celebrant, claiming the maiden league title in his coaching career. The Italian becomes the fourth Porto coach to win the title in their debut season.
Porto’s latest title win is the 31st league crown in the club’s history.
