The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) has revealed that the applications for its upgrading and higher diploma programmes are open, even after the March intake application through the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) portal officially closed.
In a statement on Monday, January 28, the college indicated that individuals, including the college’s alumni, can access and apply for the courses through KMTC’s application portal.
“Although the preservice intake on the KUCCPS portal has closed, the pursuit of excellence continues…” KMTC stated.
“We wish to inform the public and our alumni that applications for Upgrading and Higher Diploma programmes are still open,” it added.

On the other hand, the college has advised all applicants of the March 2026 intake to start preparations by ensuring that all documents that they require for admission are ready.
The institutions have noted that admissions will strictly be merit-based and cautioned the public against fraudsters claiming that they can alter KMTC placements.
“The KUCCPS portal for the March 2026 intake is now officially closed. To the thousands of you who hit “Submit”—Thank You! We are deeply honoured that you have placed your faith and your future in KMTC,” the notice read.
KUCCPS announced the opening of the March 2026 KMTC application portal on Wednesday, January 7. The portal was open until Tuesday, January 27.
The placement by KUCCPS covered a total of 36 certificate and diploma programmes under health sciences offered across all the 98 KMTC campuses, which had a total of 21,000 vacancies.
“Application for placement to Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC), March 2026 intake, is now open. Log in to the KUCCPS System portal window to view available programmes and apply,” KUCCPS stated.
The announcement comes two days after the KUCCPS CEO announced that the placement service will open the university and college placement portal in March.
Speaking during an interview with Inooro TV on Monday, January 26, KUCCPS CEO Agnes Wahome said that once the portal goes live, applicants will be provided with guidance materials to help them navigate the system and make informed university and college selections.
