A cloud of grief has engulfed a family from Lososi Village in Wodanga Ward, Vihiga County, following the sudden death of their daughter, Mitchel.

Mitchel reportedly collapsed in the school’s washroom and was rushed to Sabatia Hospital for treatment.

Being an orphan, the young student lived with her relatives. Her guardian said he received a call informing him that Mitchel had been taken to hospital and was asked to provide the necessary information to facilitate her treatment through his Social Health Authority (SHA) cover.

How did Vokoli Girls student die? At the time, the guardian said he was unable to obtain more information about what had happened to the girl despite making inquiries. Calls to Mitchel’s class teacher went unanswered, while efforts to reach the school matron were unsuccessful.

Sadly, later that night, he received the heartbreaking news that the student had passed away. He was further informed that her body had been taken to Mabele Hospital Mortuary.

By the time of publication, the school had not released a statement explaining what happened to Mitchel or the circumstances surrounding her death.

Kenyans mourn Vokoli Girls student The tragic incident sparked widespread reactions online, with many Kenyans mourning the student and calling for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
