Why did Mother-In-Law’s Maria’s marriage end? “For the last 15 years, I have been single. I remember that the last time I got pregnant, we turned to business. From doing market errands to supplying meat and more, those businesses picked up very well. We even bought our first car, a Nissan Caravan, and by the time we separated, we had around six matatus, including the Toyota Sharks. Money was the reason things changed the way they did. You know, when someone who is not used to handling a lot of money suddenly gets it, their eyes can open and they start seeing things differently,” she said. According to Maria, when people get money, they tend to begin thinking that the person they are with is not as smart as they thought and that they want someone “smarter.”
“True to that, he left, because all these years later, I am still single. We had two children together, both named after his parents, and then I took a break. It took a long time, about nine years, before I got pregnant again. In fact, when I became pregnant, I did not even know. It was my husband who noticed that I was experiencing morning sickness when he was dropping me at the market as he continued driving one of the matatus every day. This was around 2005,” she added. She explained that she gave birth to a child whom she named after her father and later her estranged hubby took a drastic turn.
“Later, when he was asked why things turned out the way they did, he explained that he had always intended to marry two wives and have two children with each of them, but that was something he had never told me. He started saying that had always been his plan and that I had made a mistake by having a third child. I was left wondering what he meant because I was always with him and I knew our financial situation. But it is okay,” she further said. Watch the video below:
