April 15, (THEWILL) — Paris Saint-Germain will meet Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals after the German club defeated Real Madrid 4-3 in a chaotic second leg to prevail 6-4 on aggregate.
The match descended into disorder within its opening minutes. Manuel Neuer played a loose pass directly to Arda Guler, who curled the ball into the unguarded net from 30 yards. Andriy Lunin then became stranded behind his line from a Joshua Kimmich corner, and Aleksandar Pavlovic headed home unopposed to level. Both teams had scored inside six minutes, a record for a UCL knockout fixture.
Guler struck again from a 25-yard free-kick before Harry Kane replied for Bayern. Kylian Mbappe then slotted past Neuer in the 42nd minute to make it 4-4 on aggregate at half-time, with five goals shared across a first half that defied any sense of control.
The decisive moment came late, when substitute Eduardo Camavinga, already booked, picked up the ball to delay a Bayern free-kick with four minutes of normal time remaining and collected a second yellow card. Luiz Diaz curled a deflected effort into the far corner almost immediately, and Michael Olise bent in a fourth for the hosts in stoppage time.
Guler was then shown a red card after the final whistle for protesting at the officials, leaving Real Madrid to reflect on a tie that ended with two players dismissed. Bayern now await PSG in the last four.
