Nollywood actor Kolawole Ajeyemi has called for urgent government and security response after the death of a kidnapped teacher, Michael Oyedokun, in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
In a post on his Instagram page, the actor wrote: “OGBOMOSO people need help please @seyi_amakinde @officialasiwajubat. Haaaa this is too much they killed this man @seyi_amakinde @officialasiwajubat OGBOMOSO needs help. Nigeria is bleeding, please @officialasiwajubat”
Naija News reports that Oyedokun, who taught at Community High School, Ahoro-Esinele, was abducted along with other teachers and pupils during an armed attack on schools in the community.
He was later killed by his abductors days after the incident.
The school attack happened at Community Grammar School and LA School in Ahoro-Esinele, where several teachers and pupils were taken away.
The Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board confirmed that one teacher died during the incident while others were abducted.
Governor Seyi Makinde confirmed that seven teachers were taken and one was killed in captivity. He said efforts were ongoing with security agencies to rescue the remaining victims.
The Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has visited the affected communities and ordered stronger rescue operations in the area as pressure continues for the safe return of those still held.
