BUA Group has dismissed reports alleging that its Chairman, Abdul Samad Rabiu, submitted a bid to acquire a 70 per cent stake in Kano Pillars Football Club, describing the claim as false and misleading.

The company, in a statement issued on Monday, said neither BUA Group nor Rabiu had made any move to acquire a stake in the club, insisting that no such discussions or engagements had taken place.

“Our attention has been drawn to an online publication suggesting that BUA Group and its Chairman, Abdul Samad Rabiu, have submitted a bid to acquire a 70% stake in Kano Pillars Football Club,” the statement read.

“We would like to clarify that this report is inaccurate and does not reflect any position, action, or communication from BUA Group or Abdul Samad Rabiu,” it shuts the claims.

The conglomerate stressed that contrary to the claims contained in the report, “No such bid has been made, and there has been no engagement with any party on this matter.”

The clarification comes amid growing public interest in the future ownership and management structure of the Kano-based football club.

BUA urged members of the public and the media to ignore the report and seek information only from the company’s official communication channels.

“We kindly request that this report be disregarded, and we encourage the public and members of the press to rely only on official statements issued through BUA Group’s verified channels for accurate information regarding our activities,” the company stated.

The company also thanked the public for its continued interest in its operations and expressed appreciation for the understanding shown by stakeholders following the clarification.

“We appreciate the continued interest in BUA Group and thank the public for their understanding,” the statement added.
